Open Eyes | Photo Diary
A few photos from this weekend... I've been picking up my DSLR more and more these days, since the camera on my iPhone 5 is incredibly shitty... And I gotta say, it's pretty fun.
I really want to up my photography game this year, so any excuse to make that happen — I'm on it. Nothing beats grabbing your camera and heading out for random photo/exploring missions.
Last night I had a feeling it was going to be an epic sunset, so I grabbed my gear and headed out. Sure enough, it was pretty decent. I think sunrise and sunset are my favourite times of the day to shoot... The light is hard to beat. The colours, the lens flares, its too good.
Today I also missioned up to the Manukau Heads Lighthouse, which was pretty rad. I never even knew it existed until I drove past some random sign pointing to a lighthouse. Turns out its pretty awesome! You can walk right up into the lighthouse too. I feel like it's still not hugely known, so the only other people up there were kiwis who seemed to have been there before, or had some inside knowledge.
I've also finally jumped on the Lightroom bandwagon, to organise and edit all of my photos. I've always been an avid Photoshop user, but after finally getting the hang of Lightroom, I'm in love. It's a little intimidating at first, but once you start to get your head around it, you realise how powerful it is.
