Start before you're ready.

Not enough money.
Not enough time.
Not enough experience.

You wait for the time or the opportunity to present itself so you can ‘start the thing’… But it doesn’t happen. Days, weeks, months, years fly on by.

You have two choices ::
Keep waiting, or,
Just start.

I know it can be hard letting go of perfectionism, and the need for everything to be 100% amazing before we start something, but what if we thought about it this way… It’s not about perfection. It’s about effort and dedication. Doing what you can, with what you have, where you are.

What if you were able to find clarity through movement?

Here’s a personal story...

When I first had the idea to create my first course, Be Unmistakable, I had to consider how I wanted to deliver it, and what kind of timeline I wanted to work on. There’s a bajillion options for digital products, with varying financial and time investments… eBooks, Email Courses, full Membership Sites, Subscription Sites, the list goes on.

I could have gone for a full Membership site, done videos, audio, the whole shebang, but I knew that would take a lot of time and money. And I knew this course was something I had to get out into the world, as soon as possible. So instead of going the ‘full shebang’ route, I opted to create it as a simple email course, with the content being emailed out once a week, for 4 weeks. No Membership website... Just email content with super slick PDF's, and a Facebook Group.

By doing this I’m starting reasonably small, but it’s also giving me a chance to see if this course is worth taking bigger, without dropping loads of cash (and time) on it, right off the bat. Depending on how this first round goes, I’ll be able to get an indication on what works, and what could be improved.

This quote by Danielle LaPorte always comes to me at these times when I feel the need for everything to be perfect ::

Everything that’s ever been done could have been better.

Set a launch date for the product. Tell people about it. Get some accountability.
Start the business you’ve always wanted to start.
Start planning the adventure you've been yearning for.

And the most important thing?
Learn from your mistakes.
Learn from your triumphs.
If it works and it feels good, keep doing it. If it doesn’t work, or it doesn’t feel great, stop. Try something else.

The only way to get from where you are to where you want to be, is by doing the work*. {Tweet This}

Just fucking start.

*Work — By Work, I mean doing the stuff you’re called to do... The shit you love doing. Not the shit that feels like it’s sucking the life out of you.
