A few things I've learned about creativity & business.

I have a few things I've been thinking about (and reminding myself of) lately when it comes to creativity, and business, so I thought I'd share 'em here with you too.

No matter how long you’ve been in the game, it will always ebb & flow.

Don’t fight it… unless you want the lows to suck even more. I don't know why this one is so bloody hard to remember when you're in a low, but the sooner you can detach from it, the sooner you can get some perspective to move through it.

Know yourself.

Dive into Human Design, Astrology, Mindfulness, journaling, whatever your vibe is. Use that in your business to do shit the way only you can. Tbh, personally this is something I kinda forgot lately, I was getting lost in the sauce thinking I had to create content based on all this other shit I was seeing, then I was chatting to my friend Lexi and she helped me center back to who I am and how I roll, which included some astrology stuff that I didn't actually know about... Which also makes me want to dive into that world even more!

Just make the offer.

And again. And again. You’re not going to piss off the customers who are right for you. Sometimes when I send emails with specific new offers/products, I get a handful of people unsubscribe... And sometimes I get zero. I truly don't worry about those unsubs anymore, because I believe that people are always flowing in and out of your arena/your audience, and you can't do anything about it... So you may as well just keep doing what feels true to you. Also, you're running a business. And offering cool shit that can help people. Make the offers! Sell the things!

You’re allowed to fire clients.

If it's not working out, it's not working out. You don't have to keep pushing just because you want to see a project through... When it's affecting your mental health, and the rest of your work, think about letting it go and moving on. It sucks, but at a certain point you have to cut your losses, ya know. (This one is inspired by a friend's situation, which I was chatting out with her over the weekend).

Find the people who have a similar vibe & mindset to you.

And be friends with them. They’ll remind you of who you are when you feel stuck or lost. Refer to the second point, know yourself, for my recent experience here.
