4 Easy AF Ways to Refresh your Squarespace Website Today
I wanted these tips to all be mega easy and simple, so you could choose one or two and have a play around inside your Squarespace site, or you could combine all 4 and spend a few hours jooshin' up your website. Be sure to click through to the blog post where I have videos for each tip!
ALL of these things are do-able on both versions of Squarespace — 7.0 AND 7.1. 😎
I’ve also made a video on Loom to show you how to do all of these things, so check it out below + test some of ‘em out!
1 — Use the new image features
There are some super sweet new features for images that are available on both Squarespace 7.0 AND 7.1! It’s really easy to use and there’s a ton of variations you can play around with.
This is awesome even if you don’t use these specific shapes in your branding, but you want the ability to easily add circle images in some spots, or just make some images a lil more special than a square one — WITHOUT the need to do all of these things in a design program.
2 — Add a site border
I LOVE using site borders on my websites, as you can see here on the Good as Gold website I have a white one. I think it just adds another simple + clean element that makes it a little different to most other websites — even more so if you make it very thin, or very bold, or a bright colour.
3 — Add a video background to a few sections
Adding videos into my designs is my new fave thing… It just makes your website a little more interesting than if it was just static with only photos. I’m suprised more people haven’t started using vids, and I reckon its most DEF one of the easiest ways to refresh your website without taking a ton of time or effort.
4 — Add or replace some background images with new textures
Background textures/images are really awesome for giving your website some depth and layers, to help it not feel so flat and boring, or like a super standard template website. Adding layers is the number one thing I try to do to all of my websties for this reason — to just make shit more interesting and to really give more vibes that lean into the elements of the brand.
